The Assembly Line
Have you ever wondered how multiple products are manufactured at a considerably low cost, compared to the cost of the prototypes? -The secret is The Assembly Line!
The assembly line refers to a manufacturing process in which a product is assembled sequentially r as it moves through various workstations. Each station or worker in the production process performs a specific, repetitive task, which contributes to the completion of the final product. This method significantly speeds up production, increases efficiency, and lowers costs, as it allows workers to specialize in one task rather than performing multiple tasks.
You will find that one of the key features of an assembly line is Division of Labour, which allows a worker or machine to perform specific and repetitive tasks. There is also Standardisation, which simply ensures that products are made to a standard specification, thereby reducing variation. We also have Efficiency, which is designed to minimise time and movement, while increasing production speed, and finally, we have Flow, which ensures that products move sm oothly from one stage to the next, typically on a conveyor belt.
In consideration of our Christian journey, I have realized that one of the overall uses of our FAITH is to please God, and produce a world where the fear of God is alive, by growing His Disciple base. You see, we already have the prototype in Jesus.
You might wonder what the assembly line has to do with this.
Well for starters, in Ephesians 4:11, “And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints…” God gave the bodythe five fold ministry gifts for the purpose of training, which leads to the process of growing in stature. Luke 2:52 confirms as much, because Jesus grew in stature and wisdom, just as we all must also work towards Ephesians 4:13. Our steady growth in stature ensures our Discipleship, as it is at this point, we begin to replicate, as His followers (Matthew 28:19–20), and in the fulfilment of this, we become the channel of impact to the world.
When we consider our fathers Abraham, Jacob, and Joseph, we can clearly see in their lives how through their walk with God, they raised a commanded house, a grateful nation, and wrought groundbreaking and mind-boggling feats in the name of God. Thus, making it impossible for anyone who encounters them or their tales not to fear the God that they so tirelessly rely on, regardless of their status, from common man to Kings.
Woe to him that buildeth a town with blood, and stablisheth a city by iniquity! Behold, is it not of the LORD of hosts that the people shall labour in the very fire, and the people shall weary themselves for very vanity? For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea. — Habakkuk 2:12–14
The lack of the knowledge of God, also sponsors the lack of Fear of God, which leads to iniquity. Remember, the flow is an integral part of the assembly line without which there is no smooth movement of products — so where there is no flow, we are at an all-time low. We must ensure a stable production line to disciple men for God, because the knowledge of God impacts the fear of God, not in a trembling manner, but in awe of His grace, and all that He is.
Without prejudice, the bible states “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” This further emphasises the need to build up one’s Faith, which can only be satisfied by the consistent renewing of the mind, through teachings, and sound doctrine.
As we go this week, let us remember that by the reason of our Faith, we all ought to be a walking assembly line, churning out disciples at an incredible rate, so please ensure to reach out to that person just to win them over to this side of eternity, especially in this season of Generosity.
Quick trivia: can we identify the features of the assembly line in the 4th paragraph?
If Yes, share them in the comment below.
Have a great week ahead.
